The key objective of this role is to develop and grow a £2M income department with aggressive and exciting growth plans over the next 3 years. The Head of Sales will report into the Group Sales Director and be responsible for leading, developing and executing the sales strategy through both team leaders of a performing telesales and e-trading team, and play a vital role in proactively growing the Insurance business.
We have a fast paced innovative SME telesales environment, that specialises in placing business primarily through E-Trading within 24 hours of enquiry.
Commercial Broking experience is essential, specifically within the property and liability sector. The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical & Underwriting Manager supporting technical projects and be an effective influencer to drive the sales team to exceed targets through acquisition of new business, whilst ensuring retention targets are hit if not exceeded.
Key responsibilities will be as follows but not limited to.
Manage, develop and grow a desk based tele-sales Acquisition & Renewals business to hit and exceed targets.
Enable and facilitate our expansion into different markets
Roll out new Insurers
Liaise with the Lead Generation Manager to ensure your pipeline of lead gen data is within the sales strategy
Facilitate regular and accurate reporting to be supplied to the team
Identify areas to increase conversion, yield and customer volume
Create and implement strategies to achieve growth in the areas above
Ensure each member of the team has a personal training and development plan
To identify and help the team to qualify up-selling sales opportunities to increase growth and revenue.
This shall include but not be limited to customer visits, presenting technical and commercial propositions.
Provide accurate and timely Forecasting.
To analyse and prioritise opportunities and time accordingly to achieve targets.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Experienced managing and developing a successful Sales business
Ability to demonstrate skills in coaching and developing sales people.
Preferably CII Qualified
Demonstrable skills in managing a sales and retention desk based department.
Track record of overachievement of sales targets.
High level of commercial awareness.
Commercial acumen and sound business understanding.
Competent IT and System skills.
The ideal applicant will have been exposed to working within a high volume corporate OR SME sales environment.
Professional, with a positive and energetic attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Driven, motivated high achiever.
